This year Art & Design students were involved in the partnership by creating a range of different jerseys to help celebrate and promote the partnership between the club and the University. The winning jersey was designed by design student, Joe Swain, who featured different elements and colours from the University crest. The jerseys were used in the Elite League fixture against Nottingham Panthers last Wednesday.

Liam Hesketh, Sponsorship and Marketing Manager for Storm and Caitriona O’Shea, Director, Industry Collaboration and Sport Partnership judged the Jerseys with the winning garment being manufactured by Dunamis Sports.

Over the last couple of months, business students have also been working hard to help organise the takeover. Their goal was to attract more people to watch the sport and make students aware of the partnership.

Ross Heaviside, Industry Collaboration Sport Co-Ordinator said: “It has been exciting to develop the partnership between the University and Manchester Storm this season. We have been able to offer over 20 students the opportunity to work on projects with the club in areas such as jersey design, nutrition, and other sport science students from the School of Health and Society, and event management which was showcased at our recent Takeover event, where the University showed its presence at a Storm home game. Offering real-world professional experience to these students and additional support to Storm’s backroom staff. I know both parties are looking forward to expanding this relationship in the coming years and we’re keen to see how this develops.”
