The new academic year is finally approaching and we can't wait to welcome you back! We know there's a lot to remember as you settle into a new academic year. That's why we've put everything you need to know to get back into studying, make the most of student life and start planning for the future - all in one place. Grab a brew and complete each step below to make sure you're ready for the new Trimester.

Step 1: Returning Checklist: Things to do

There are a handful of things you need to do before you start to ensure you can continue your studies and to set yourself up for success. If you're studying on campus, you'll also have a few things to do when you arrive back on campus too. Don't worry, it's quick and easy and, once you've completed this checklist, you're ready to get back into your studies. Let's go! 

Before returning

  •  Registration is open from 18 August 2025. You only need to register if you receive an email invitation.
  • Read the important information in your student terms and conditions carefully before you register for the new academic year as changes apply.
  • Check your timetable. Timetables for the 2025/2026 academic year are currently being prepared. You'll receive an email when they are ready. Remember to check your timetable weekly.
  • Moved address? Got a new phone number? Remember to  so you don't miss important updates about your course.
  • Are you up to date with vaccinations? Make sure you have received your ,  and  to help protect yourself and others against potentially serious illnesses including meningitis, measles and cervical cancer.
  • Get financially ready by budgeting and learning how to manage your money.
  • Check if you're eligible for a donor-funded scholarship.
  • if you watch live TV on any device, and if you watch BBC programmes.
