Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation
Biography
Professor Yeliz Prior provides international leadership in clinical rehabilitation and applied health research, shaping policy, practice and research standards through guideline development, implementation science and translational programmes of work.
Her expertise spans complex intervention design, shared decision making, capability building and research capacity development across multidisciplinary health systems. Her work bridges research, NHS implementation and workforce innovation, embedding co-produced health solutions within real-world systems of care.
Areas of Research
Yeliz' research explores how evidence can be generated, mobilised and embedded to improve health outcomes and system sustainability. Areas of focus include implementation science, shared decision making, capability building, workforce development and the design and evaluation of complex interventions across integrated health systems.
Areas of Supervision
I welcome proposals from ambitious doctoral and postdoctoral researchers seeking to develop internationally relevant research that strengthens health systems, advances implementation science and embeds evidence within real-world practice. Cross-disciplinary, collaborative and co-produced programmes of work are strongly encouraged.
Recently led the taught programme for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Prosthetics and Orthotics (2019–2025), a collaboration between the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, Imperial College London, the University of Strathclyde, and the University of Southampton, alongside 25+ global industry partners.
Currently, Yeliz is the Research Environment lead for the School of Helth and Society, supervises postgraduate students and mentors allied health professionals interested in research. She also contributes to textbook authorship and other digital educational materials. Her latest work include:
