Biography
As a registered nurse, Jennifer has extensive experience in operating theatres and perioperative care. She has particular experience of emergency, trauma and major trauma surgery as a scrub practitioner. She sits on the Royal College of Nursing Perioperative Steering Committee, and has worked on national projects with governmental and non-governmental agencies in this role. Jennifer is now a Senior Lecturer at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, and holds an honorary contract in the Centre for Clinical and Care Research at the Northern Care Alliance.
Jennifer has worked between the NHS and Higher Education Institutions for several years, and is an experienced academic across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She completed her PhD in Perioperative Major Incident Preparedness in 2025 at the University of Sheffield. Her research interested in theatre practitioner workforce utilisation and organisational adaptive capacity. She is particularly interested in pragmatic multidisciplinary and mixed methodology research to address contemporary issues facing the theatre practitioner workforce.
