Lecturer in Management

Biography

Following a 20 year career in the Music Industry as a performer and producer, Iain transitioned into the Event Management industry using his transferable skills and knowledge.

As an event industry professional Iain has worked on some of the largest cultural music events in the UK including Glastonbury, Creamfields, Wireless Festival and others. This capacity saw him undertake Front of House, Backstage, Ticketing, Gate Entry and other key operational areas of festivals.

As a mature student Iain enrolled at º£½ÇÂÒÂ× University where he completed his BSc in Business and Management, and MSc in International Event management where he achieved the highest grade for practical delivery of a cultural event (Dirty Old Town) the MSc program had known.

During this time, Iain continued to work in the event industry for The Lowry Theatre, where he was a key member of the conference and event teams managing a wide array of events from exhibitions, B2B, weddings and graduations.

After leaving the event industry during the COVID19 pandemic, Iain secured HPA roles at º£½ÇÂÒÂ× University School of Business and demonstrated a high level of flexibility in delivering a wide array of Business subjects.

Following a period running a Level 4 super module, Iain successfully became a full time lecturer at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ× where he has been program leader for International Events Management, Applied Football Studies and Esports Business and Enterprise programs.
