Profile
Dr Darren Schofield is a lecturer in people management at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, a qualified teacher, he holds a PhD in Education from the University of Huddersfield. Prior to turning to an academic career he held industry leadership positions including head of group commercial operations in a retail career spanning 22 years with Wm Morrisons Supermarkets Plc. He is a British Army Reserve Officer who has served on operations in Afghanistan, is a former Officer Commanding Leeds University Officers’ Training Corps and Commanded 4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment throughout mobilisation, deployment, and recovery of the Battalion in support of the UK’s response to Covid-19 (Op RESCRIPT) at the onset of the Pandemic.

•Module Leader and lecturer: Resourcing & Talent Management.
•Module Leader and Lecturer: Organisational Behaviour & Change.
Research interests and writing:
His research interests include, leadership and management, Vocational Education and Training (VET), social mobility in education and the workplace and understanding ideas of credentialism and meritocracy.
As a staff officer serving in British Army Headquarters, Darren has recently overseen an extensive 6-month research project which aimed to better understand Army Reservist Terms and Conditions of Service.
