Winner Ethan McKnight faced strong competition in the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ category, including another �������� apprentice, Lyndon Pillar, who was also shortlisted for the award.

However, it was Ethan’s dedication to providing empathetic, person-centred care, especially for patients with dementia, which ultimately won over judges at the Made in Manchester Awards.

On his win, Ethan said: “Apprenticeships are a vital gateway to hands-on learning, offering invaluable experience that shapes both personal and professional growth.

“Winning the Made in Manchester 2025 Apprentice of the Year award is an incredible honour, and it reaffirms my belief that apprenticeships provide the perfect foundation for building a successful, impactful career. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to have learned and grown through this path, and I’m excited to continue pushing boundaries in my profession.”
