The newest students on our FA Fashion Making and Image Styling (FIMS) course experienced an induction week with a real difference 鈥 after they were sent to document Manchester Fashion Week.

From the runway to the streets, the students captured the week in all its glory as the event took over Manchester's St John鈥檚 district from Wednesday 9 September to Saturday 12 September.

Across Versa Studios, Campfield and the ABC Buildings, the students documented the people, the styles, the spaces and everything happening around them while championing diversity and inclusion across their images.

While some photographed outside, others networked themselves into the shows and spaces, spending their first few days as students in the beating heart of the industry.

Given no industry brief, students were asked to enter the city and simply respond to the fashion while it was happening around them.

The end result was a collection of images that told a much bigger story about what makes a Fashion Week. That it's not just what you see on the runway, but the culture that forms around it. While some came back with runway images, others documented the crowds, street style, details and moments happening around the shows.

These photographs will now act as a collective showreel for the course, giving our newest FIMS students their first shared body of work just weeks into their time as 海角乱伦 students.

The week also saw a number of course alumni playing key roles during the event, including Lucy Grayson, who was Head Stylist, and Imani Rowe, who was working as a Styling Assistant.
