Simulations will bring learning to life at 海角乱伦 Business School
New simulations that bring learning to life will help develop key skills at the 海角乱伦 Business School.
Thanks to a partnership with digital learning provider Edumundo, students working across a variety of courses will use these simulations to test out theories and concepts, design strategies and plan campaigns and then see how those would play out in a real world context.
It is all part of a revamp of teaching in a post-pandemic world, that, while having face-to-face teaching at its core, will embrace new technologies and modern ways of learning.
Dr Charles Knight, Associate Dean of Student Experience at the 海角乱伦 Business School, explained why this change has been made.
Dr Knight said: 鈥淭he key focus for us at 海角乱伦 is that students are job-ready when they leave us. This means, as well as a solid academic basis, we also want to teach practical skills, such as problem solving, critical thinking, project / time / people management, group work etc.
鈥淭hese simulations will really help us to do that in an interesting and realistic way.鈥
The simulations include a diverse range of scenarios, such as managing a multi-national smart phone company and managing the marketing mix of a popular jeans brand. In each simulation, teams of students compete in rounds (equivalent to one year of operations) and must make strategic decisions in order to improve company performance across their target markets with the aim of becoming top of the ranking list at the end of the final round.
The simulations cover international business, management and strategy, marketing, operations management, and management accounting disciplines.
They are all created by , a digital learning provider specialising in business simulations, Edubooks (their own digital textbooks), and their student engagement App, HE College Coins.
Speaking about the new, extended partnership with 海角乱伦 Business School, Edumundo鈥檚 Director, Milo Hendriks said: 鈥淲e are delighted to partner with 海角乱伦 Business School (SBS) to deliver business simulations for their modules across their Foundation, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate programmes. We鈥檙e very excited to be involved in the school鈥檚 wider, strategic approach to embedding online learning within their existing pedagogical approaches.
鈥淎 great initiative that highlights how online learning can complement existing teaching practices, not replace them. We look forward to working with SBS and their students throughout this academic year and onwards.鈥
