海角乱伦 student shortlisted for 鈥楽tudent of the Year鈥
After receiving almost 500 nominations, the shortlist for this year鈥檚 Greater Manchester Health & Care Champion Awards has now been announced with 海角乱伦 Adult Nursing student, Annabel Clark, nominated for 鈥楽tudent of the Year鈥.
Over 30 individuals from across the NHS, local authorities, charities, care homes and many other sectors have been shortlisted across 12 different categories. A panel made up of representatives from across our public services, plus patient representatives, reviewed all the nominations and agreed the final shortlist. The winners themselves will be announced at a virtual ceremony in November.
On being shortlisted, Annabel said: "It鈥檚 an honour to have been nominated let alone shortlisted. It鈥檚 nice to know that I鈥檝e made a difference and the award board thinking the same.
"I love what I do but it鈥檚 a real big boost when something like this happens and encourages me to continue what I do on placement.
"During the pandemic it felt like student nurses had been left a bit behind, with what we had to risk and the pressures of a struggling health care system. It would be amazing to actually win the award but I鈥檓 already really happy with someone nominating me."
Professor Margaret Rowe, Dean of the School of Health and Society, said:
鈥淚 am delighted to hear that Annabel has been shortlisted for 鈥楽tudent of the Year鈥 at the Greater Manchester Health & Care Champion Awards. It is a testament to her hard work and dedication during what has been an incredibly challenging year.
鈥淪he has worked tirelessly with her studies and hearing the incredibly positive feedback from her placement provider is fantastic.
鈥淚 very much look forward to hearing how Annabel gets on at the awards and wish her the best of luck.鈥
Annabel鈥檚 personal tutor and Senior Lecturer, Dr Mark Mitchell, said: "As with all students in her group, Annabel has commenced her nursing career amid the Covid pandemic yet has not only been able to succeed but indeed excel."
