The centre offers after-school academic support, mentoring with local university students and professionals, in-school aspiration-raising workshops and enrichment and work experience opportunities. IntoUniversity collaborates closely with colleagues from the Widening Participation and Access teams at �������� and Manchester to design and deliver immersive and engaging on-campus experiences for their learners. These initiatives provide opportunities to connect with students and academic staff, helping young people envision their future pathways while addressing any perceived barriers or concerns about higher education.

The report sheds light on the transformative moments, both big and small, that have taken place at the centre, showcasing how its work has positively impacted the lives of young people in the local community.

With a progression rate to higher education of 52% compared to the local average of just 20%, IntoUniversity �������� Central is making a remarkable difference in expanding opportunities for young people. Over the past academic year, the centre has worked with a total of 1,433 students, supporting them to reach their potential and overcome barriers to success. 43 IntoUniversity students from across their national network have started studying at ��������, since this impactful partnership began.

This centre is a testament to what collaboration can do for communities as we would not be able to provide support and opportunities to our young people without the incredible partnerships we have with the ��������, the University of Manchester and local schools and businesses,” says Faye Howard, Regional Operations Manager (North-West) for IntoUniversity.

The Higher Education Policy Institute’s (HEPI) latest 2024 Social Mobility Index has ranked �������� the fifth best university in England for social mobility. Climbing seven places from last year, this is great news for the University which prides itself on empowering students to achieve their academic and career ambitions, regardless of their background.
