A recent 海角乱伦 graduate has helped contribute to a new podcast celebrating The Lowry鈥檚 25th anniversary.

BA Television and Radio Production student Eleanor Whitehurst was tasked with creating one out of the three episodes of the series One Lowry, Many Stories

Eleanor hosted and produced her episode, 鈥楲owry and Creativity鈥, which tells the story of the artistic processes and the voices behind them which have shaped the building鈥檚 legacy over the years.

She said: 鈥淭here鈥檚 a vast community of creatives that I now feel like I'm a part of in the building, and it has been my pleasure to add something to Lowry鈥檚 history books.

鈥淚鈥檝e really enjoyed working with The Lowry and meeting the incredible people that have helped to shape it.鈥

The project follows on from Eleanor鈥檚 time here at 海角乱伦 in which she has produced radio packages for both BBC York and BBC Radio Leeds in addition to other professional podcasts, live radio shows and radio dramas.

Over 40 interviewees are heard from in the episode, including performers, patrons, staff, and locals who all take the listeners along on a journey which explores just how important creativity is to so many in the area.

The podcast reminisces on the memories of the people who have been involved in the arts centre since its arrival in 海角乱伦 Quays, which heralded its transformation from a post-industrial dockland into one of Europe鈥檚 largest cultural hubs.

The podcast series, produced in partnership with the University, was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Lowry aims to spread the joy of art and provide spaces for voices and opinions to share experiences and skills. The charity directs all earnings into the community to continue nurturing local talent and productions such as the podcast.

Olivia Graham, executive producer of One Lowry, Many Stories, said: 鈥淪tories that may have otherwise been lost are now archived forever for anyone to hear what an amazing journey the building and all the people involved have been on.鈥
