Architecture student graduates with First-Class Honours and lands job with top firm

Categories: School of Science, Engineering and Environment

An award-winning architecture student who worked part time during her studies has just graduated for the º£½ÇÂÒÂ× and is on the path to a successful career.

Jessica Hunter, who graduated today with a First-Class degree, has gone on to work at a top architectural company following her degree at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×.

For 3 years, Jessica studied on the Architecture Design and Technology course on a part-time basis while working at TP Bennett, a UK based architectural design and planning practice. Now after completing her degree, she is working full-time at the firm.

Jessica originally wanted to be an interior designer, but looking at universities made her move towards Architecture and eventually a degree at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. Jessica said: “I really enjoyed my time at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. All the tutors were helpful, especially in giving me feedback straight away. I don’t have a bad thing to say about the course. Doing it part-time meant I could learn and then apply that in work too. Working at TP Bennett helped me to progress a lot faster over the 3 years and learn valuable skills. I’m extremely pleased to have graduated with a first!â€

Dr Maria Yioutani-Iacovides, a Lecturer in Architecture, said: “Jess has been an outstanding student throughout her studies, and has been a student of mine for two years. We are very proud for her achievements at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ× and at her place of work and wish her every success in the future.â€
