These suppliers have a good/excellent range of in-built accessibility features. We would recommend exploring these options thoroughly before reading the e-books available.
Gale Research Complete
- This supplier provides the option to translate text into a large range of languages.
- The font can be altered in size, colour, style (including dyslexia-friendly font ‘OpenDyslexic’)
- You can adjust the spacing of the lines, letters and words.
- Text can be highlighted, and you can add notes.
- The page mask can be changed through ‘Settings’.
- There is an in-built ‘read-aloud’ feature that highlights text as it narrates.
- Online tutorials are provided that indicate their accessibility features and how to use them. Their video ‘accessibility and support for all learners’ also mentions the following features:
- ‘Consistent layouts/labels that aide assistive technology’
- Web pages automatically resize to fit different devices.
- Translation of resource interface as well as individual documents.
- All personalisation continues throughout the session, so you don’t have to repeatedly alter it.
- When using read-aloud feature, the text/sentence colour of the narration captions can be changed.

- In-built AI Research Assistant feature which can be used for navigating the text as well as for summarising key insights and concepts.
- Provides a clear table of contents to navigate the book with ease.

- Each e-book has an accessibility statement to help make you aware of the limitations when reading.
- When downloading an abstract, there is an in-built e-reader available. This includes a read-aloud feature. You have the option to change the pitch and speed of the narration.
