The talented 21-year old BA (Hons) Broadcast Journalism has recently earned a first-class honours degree, just before swooping the esteemed Journalism, History and Politics award at the Create Awards 2021.

"I was so excited to have even been nominated for the Create Awards, but to win is really something special. I owe all my success to my lecturers, who have been a constant source of support, and to my friends who have helped me better myself throughout my time here. I will be forever grateful for my time at ��������,” he said.

In his final year David spent a lot of time working remotely making news packages on his beloved farm in rural Ireland.

“For my final year project, I made a mini documentary on American society after the Trump administration left office,” said David.

ITN have even shown interest in the work, providing once again the exciting future that lays in store for the 21-year-old.

He was a valued member of the Quays News and teams, working as a TV Producer, Broadcast Journalist and Multimedia Journalist. He has identified, reported, and produced stories that have made a significant impact on the �������� community.

In his second and final years of study he also worked in the University’s press office, sourcing student success stories, writing press releases and filming engaging videos for use across social media.

“David has been a real asset to the team and has a natural flair for journalism and PR. Approachable, reliable and dedicated, he has his finger on the pulse and has been a real advocate for ��������,” said Communications Manager Maria Dickinson.

Even before he graduated David beat of hundreds to land an exciting PR job at Kellogg’s, just next door to where he studied at ��������’s MediaCityUK campus.

As stated by lecturer Debra Manley, “he’s certainly got a bright future in front of him”.
