Overview
This module is aimed at qualified health and social care professionals interested in improving their leadership skills.
The course aims to provide the opportunity to develop, or in some instances to enhance, your knowledge of leadership theories. It will enable you to lead more effectively through reflection on your and others’ practice and interactions.
You will:
- create a PDP which focuses on the development needs to enhance your role as an effective leader
- develop and enhance your knowledge of management and current leadership theories and frameworks
- develop your skills to lead people in varying situations
How you'll learn
Future careers
This module can be taken as stand-alone for the purposes of continuing professional development. On completion of this module you will have enhanced leadership and personal effectiveness skills that you will be able to apply to your workplace in order to manage situations more effectively.

You will be a qualified health and social care professional able to demonstrate your ability to study successfully at Level 6.
Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)
We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.
The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or to give you exemptions from parts of your course.
Two forms of APL may be used for entry: the Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).
