    Students will learn the fundamentals of setting up and running a business. They will discover the importance of:

    • determining their customer base.

    This workshop will also cover the best ways to go about business planning. The importance of networking for business will also be covered.

    Business funding and finance

    Students will explore:

    • business finance
    • how to work out start-up costs
    • the importance of financial planning. 

    They'll learn about the records they will need to keep with examples of useful applications that make tracking expenses easy.

    Business idea generation

    We'll explore the processes that turn an idea into a business concept. Students will learn how to build great ideas, turning problems into solutions. 

    Students will experience an idea generation process, developing a business pitch to communicate their final concepts.

    Business planning

    In this session, we'll cover the 9 building blocks of the Business Model Canvas: 

    • Customer Segments
    • Value Proposition
    • Channels
    • Customer Relationships
    • Revenue Streams
    • Key Resources
    • Key Activities
    • Cost Structures.

    This will provide students with a starting point for considering the elements needed when creating their business plan.

    How to be successful when doing business abroad

    Students will be guided towards business success abroad, even if English is not the language spoken in their chosen market. They'll learn how to handle language challenges and succeed in business situations. 

    We'll show them how to improve their communication and understand cultural differences.

    Networking for success

    Students will learn networking strategies, from crafting the perfect elevator pitch to building lasting professional relationships.

    They'll take the first step towards building a network that will open doors to endless possibilities.

    Personal and business branding

    This workshop covers the importance of branding for students and their business. We'll explore the importance of:

    • self-awareness
    • projecting a positive image to employer and customers. 

    We'll discuss ways to boost their personal and company profile by using:

    • personal branding techniques
    • social media to enhance online presence.

    Pitching your business idea

    Students will learn how to plan, structure and deliver an effective pitch. We'll cover:

    • organising content
    • positive body language
    • persuasive techniques to keep an audience鈥檚 attention
    • presenting business cases clearly and succinctly in ten minutes or less.

    Redefining failure

    This workshop will show students the importance of understanding failure as a natural part of their journeys. We'll explore practical ways to handle setbacks, providing techniques for turning failures into opportunities. 

    Students will gain insights into the challenges that come with starting businesses and how to overcome them effectively. Students will feel more confident and prepared to face any hurdles they encounter.

    Social enterprise

    We'll introduce students to the concept of the social enterprise business model and why there can be confusion around this. Students will learn about:

    • the range of business structures that this model can take
    • whether creating a social enterprise is the best option for them.

    We鈥檒l look at analysing national, political and policy drivers that affect enterprises and how a social enterprise differs from a private business.

    Social media marketing

    We'll explore how to make brands shine online. From creating interesting posts to getting people engaged, students will learn valuable tips for succeeding in today's digital world. We will uncover:

    • smart strategies
    • how algorithms work
    • the power of different social media sites.

    This is an opportunity for students to nurture creativity, as they work towards becoming adept social media marketers.

    Students will:
